3D (Chicago / Canvas Recordings)
DJ 3D, hailing from Chicago, started spinning in '84. He was dedicated to the break-dance era where Afrika Bambaataa reigned and electro funk was a way of life. As the music progressed through time, 3D remained heavily involved in his club work until he noticed a new form of breakbeat music spawning from techno tracks of the early nineties. He decided to follow this new path along a music which developed into today's jungle drum and bass culture as we know it.
Over time, 3D's dedication and skill have landed him deals with 18 labels and countless dj bookings across the states. Thus ranking him amongst the nation's leading jungle drum and bass dj's and producers. He has also worked as the technician behind Snuggles,Slak,Q-System, Emminant Force, Flow and Desperado with engineering credits on over two dozen releases. With all the ground work laid over the years, 1998 proved to be the year DJ 3D would be able to support his family as his career goals and dreams became a full time reality. His current projects of choice are his exclusive recordings with Bad Boy Bill's Mix Connection Multimedia label, daily operations of co-owned Forte Recordings with partner Snuggles, and his career as an international dj and performing artist.

John Carel (SF / Gateway)
An underground leader, John is responsible for much of the outdoor event scene in the San Francisco area. Since 1993, John and Gateway Systems have been assembling outdoor events that redefine the message behind the electronic dance movement.
John is one of those people that go beyond the status of DJ, beyond the concept of superstar, and exist as masters of sound. John's sets are described as being triggers for out of body experiences (see equinox review), and incredible trance states.
For nowhere, John will be setting the groove saturday night with a three hour set of intricate techno and trance.

DJ Insect (Chicago / nodeOne)
Expect this performance to be relentless, minimal, and funky. He is preparing a unique mixture of hard techno written expressly for nowhere, interlaced with the demented and deranged work of the silent partner (the artist formerly known as virus).
Please be advised: This dangerous compound is known to be highly volatile in densely populated areas, and is subject to explosion and widespread damage in the resulting blast area. This is not a drill.
"The techno infection began for me in late 1992, in Chicago... it started with neverending nights, lights, mystique, hypnotic music, and interesting people... It evolved into throwing events, techno-infused graphic design, writing and producing music, and generally carrying a lot of speakers around..."
Dj Insect has recorded with Element and Virus on Technostate Recordings, and with the Silent Partner on Farmacy Recordings. Amplified Emergence, his last mixtape in conjunction with dj virus, was ranked in the top ten mixtapes of 1998 by Radiovalve.net. Other selected on-air broadcasts of live dj sets can be found on technostate.com, San Francisco's widely successful electronic music website, of which he was a co-founder.
Insect is also the mind and mission behind nodeOne, the creative design and visual development company now centered in Chicago. He is responsible for the look and feel of almost one million rave and club flyers nationwide.

Ernie Deaks (SF / ProSoy)
Ernie has been spinning for 8 years, loves to play long sets exploring the realms between dark hard techno and slammin tribal house. Ernie Deaks' recent projects include spinning 2x4 big warehouse sets with DJ Maya 13. The two DJ's have also been working on recording projects in their home studio. Ernie has been conducting analog sound experiments for 2 years now and plans to debut some of the results at Nowhere.
Deaks has been involved in almost every aspect of the techno scene. He started as a radio DJ in 1991, spun for and helped throw outdoor renegades with The Cloud Factory Collective, Friends and Family, Harmony and Gateway. In 1996 Deaks started Pro-Soy with Maya 13. Pro-Soy was started to bring the message of health and the warnings of reality (ie: poloution, crime, artificial foods etc.) to the womb of a party.
Deaks' latest projects include starting his own record label and releasing his back catalogue of DJ sets. Deaks also wants to share his vibe with more people across the country and world.
The type of labels you're likely to hear Deaks play: Purpose Maker, Primate, Subhead, Force Inc., Music Man, RE-Load, Cytrax, Sonic Groove, Future Frontier etc.
Current favorite artists: The Orb, Jeff Mills, Joel Mull, Kit Clayton, Adam X, Kraftwerk, Thomas Shumacher.
What Ernie calls his style: Hard fulfilling techno+house+electro+trance
Last seen in CO : August 23rd,1997 The Emerald City
*Top Secret : Word has it that Deaks is working on a video project to go along with his set.
