Got there right at the end of DJ Quest's set, only got to hear a couple of tracks but he dropped Aphrodite's 'Woman that rolls' which was great to hear after the two-hour drive, put me right on my feet. Next up was Joc Max, fucking great set. Real interesting to see the jazz/hiphop/funk vibe hit the crowd, people were definitely into it. Halo and Justin Long, well, I'll admit I'm not much of a house fan, and yeah the crowd was certainly ragin' but I saw Justin Long pulling the same cliche EQ tricks 3 years ago. Same cliche Chicago house tracks too. It was fun for about 45 minutes but after that started getting old. Best Kansas City party I've ever been too, period. Props to Flux Productions for a smoov-ass party (even if I did have trouble getting my 6-pack of Beck's Dark through the door ;) wally PS Saw a flyer for a party next weekend with Astroboy topping the bill. It said *$12* for admission. Even if I did want to drive to Kansas City two weekends in a row, that's just too damn much cash for a St. Louis DJ + locals. -- wally@nicar.org "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, You are gods'?"
