THE SYSTEM IS DOWN!

Nah, seems NER is still working, just the members aren't.

Anyone see the opening ceremonies for the winter olympics lastnight?
Richie Hawtin was involved so I expected a lot of techno. There wasn't
a lot of techno. Did hear a good bit of 70s disco though. Anyways, I was
kinda disapointed.

Many of you are too young to recall who I am. The rest of you who are
old enough either love me or hate me. But for some reason I found
myself back here.

So Hi!

Zen Diagrams DJ MIX 001 - Phuture & Doomcore.

Here is a Mix. The first Mix since I retired as being a DJ almost 4
years ago. I wanted to get some mixes out of some tracks that people
would enjoy so I picked up the habit again, even though DJ Skinner
should remain dead.

Style: PCP Phuturecore and Doomcore versions of Hardcore Techno.

You can get the Zen Diagrams DJ Mix 001 as a 256bit rate mp3 from the
Acid Grave BBS. It is set up as a torrent. Enjoy, if you like this
style and want more form me just ask.

well sorta, Yea they are the same, just a differnt better software to
handle some glithes. I had v1 and v2 (long story short I got to
upgrade for 20$). But I never came across the problems v1 people had.
Personally I would deal with either one for the right price figure I
would just aim hi from the start.

tonight at midnight (in 10 minutes)

i will be broadcasting a radio show on 91.7 FM in storrs, connecticut,
usa, earth

it is called the anti-music workshop, and during the course of the
show i play only music that is fucking awesome to a stellar degree. it
will blow your head off and leave you with a stump of wonderment and
amazement at my skills as a selector and a dj.

it is free. you can tune in by going to whus.org and clicking on some
shit - - im not really sure how these website things work so you'll
have to figure it out

if you want to see old playlists, or hear old recordings, go to grep-fu.net=
/blog

IF YOU ARE A FUCKWIT, DO NOT TUNE IN.

this means you.

also, i will be giving away a meatsock t-shirt and possibly several human s=
ouls.

the number at the station is 1-860-429-9487. if you're going to call
and try to clown me, you better have something amusing scripted out,
because most of my crank callers are downright dissapointing.
seriously, work with what you have, not shit that'd make bob newhart
flush with shame, asshats.

ONCE AGAIN, NO FUCKWITS OR FAT CHICKS. i am 100% serious about this.

yep! check out grep-fu.net/blog for past shows, and i will post here
when i've uploaded my most recent one. got it recorded and ripped, i
just need to lay the hurt on my webspace provider to upgrade my plan
-- the company changed hands since ive signed up, and their $10 a
month plan changed from 2gb to 5gb on their promo website but didn't
affect my space availible, so blah blah blah forms tps reports it'll
be up soon!

p.s. why didn't i get the 303 i asked for last christmas, santa? do u hate =

Subject: [ne-raves] Barcore 25/2006 Review + Pictures

The spot was a cute little hole in the wall. I got there around 9:30
to scope out the joint and be ready to set up. The place start filling
up around 10:15 which was a very cool thing, since NYC people tend to
show up late, and many did. The first set of the evening was RJ11. Hey
played a very good and ecliptic mix of hardcore/speedcore and breaks.
Next was my Zen Diagrams project. People seemed to have gotten into
the doomcore since there were people dancing and grooving to it. Not
normal for the old .skinner. sets but the new .Zen Diagrams. seems to
get people enjoying the music. After me was Enduser who came on 10
minutes early.

Because someone spilled a beer near me and my finger jumped skipping
some of my set.. His set was a very good. He had half the crowd up on
their feet dancing. Nice mixture of dark breaks and raga style mashup.
I have always been impressed with his production, and now his live
show. Next on was the darkstepper himself Edgey; crowd Pleasure as
always, he also kept the crowd jumping around and dancing. After sir
edgey, came the speedcore man himself, and constant amp blower
Nevermind. What was entertaining about his set was some of the very
.non-fitting what did they walk into. people were even grooving to his
bmp assault on our ear drums.

Last but not lease was Burt Reynolds called and wants his coke whore
back. This was a sonic noise torture set consisting of myself,
Low-Key, T-Bone and Nobody. Low-Key and I were controlling the beats
and various noise and samples via Abelton Live, where T-Bone and
Nobody were Circuit-bending various noise patterns with the songs. It
started out a little shaky because we never planned any of this, but
after the first 5-10 minutes we had it going, and people were not only
going deaf but getting into it.

One nice thing was Detached came down from New England to do some very
kick ass Visuals all night long. He had a great setup and a nice
selection of video material all through out the night.

It was nice to see a lot of people out especially after my hiatus of
not going out. I am glad lots of people had fun, its good to see
something dealing with the .core still alive and kicking. I highly
suggest checking out the next barcore if you can.

My wife took a lot of shots of the night, so follow the link below.

Subject: [ne-raves] nrr: fun with a stun gun...

this was so funny i had to pass it on...

-----Stun Gun .......
ONLY A GUY WOULD DO THIS.

Pocket Taser Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife. This
was submitted by
a guy

who purchased his lovely wife a "pocket Taser" for
their anniversary.

Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn
Shop that sparked
my
interest. The occasion was our 22nd anniversary and I
was looking for a
little something extra for my wife Toni. What I came
across was a
100,000-
volt, pocket/purse-sized Taser. The effects of the
Taser were
suppose to be short lived, with no long-term adverse
affect on your
assailant,

allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety....
WAY TOO COOL!

Long story short, I bought the device and brought it
home. I loaded two
triple-a batteries in the darn thing and pushed the
button. Nothing! I
was
disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the
button AND
pressed it
against a metal surface at the same time; I'd get the
blue arch of
electricity

darting back and forth between the prongs. Awesome!!!
Unfortunately, I
have
yet to explain to Toni what that burn spot is on the
face of her
microwave.

Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking
to myself that it
couldn't be all that bad with only two triple-a
batteries, right?!!!

There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on
intently (trusting
little

soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking
that I really
needed to

try this thing out on a flesh & blood moving target. I
must admit I
thought
about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a second) and
thought better of
it.
She is such a sweet cat. But, if I was going to give
this thing to my
wife to

protect herself against a mugger, I did want some
assurance that it
would work

as advertised. Am I wrong??

So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top
with my reading
glasses
perched delicately on the bridge of my nose,
directions in one hand,
Taser in

another. The directions said that a one-second burst
would shock and
disorient your assailant; a two-second burst was
supposed to cause
muscle
spasms and a major loss of bodily control; a
three-second burst would
purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground
like a fish out of
water.
Any burst longer than three seconds would be wasting
the batteries.

All the while I'm looking at this little device
measuring about 5"
long,
less

than 3/4 inch in circumference; pretty cute really and
loaded with two
itsy,
bitsy triple-a batteries) thinking to myself, "no
possible way!"

What happened next is almost beyond description, but
I'll do my
best.......

I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her
head cocked to one
side as

to say, "don't do it master," reasoning that a
one-second burst from
such a
tiny little ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad.. I
decided to give
myself a

one-second burst just for the heck of it. I touched
the prongs to my
naked
thigh, pushed the button, and HOLY MOTHER, WEAPONS OF
MASS
DESTRUCTION!!!!

I'm pretty sure Jessie Ventura ran in through the side
door, picked me
up in
the recliner, then body slammed us both on the carpet,
over and over
and over

again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the
fetal position,
with
tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, both nipples on
fire, testicles
nowhere to

be found, with my left arm tucked under my body in the
oddest position,
and
tingling in my legs. The cat was standing over me
making meowing sounds
I had

never heard before, licking my face,
undoubtedly thinking to herself, "do it again, do it
again!"

Note: If you ever feel compelled to "mug" yourself
with a Taser, one
note of
caution: there is no such thing as a one-second burst
when you zap
yourself.
You will not let go of that thing until it is
dislodged from your hand
by a
violent thrashing about on the floor. A three second
burst would be
considered conservative.

SON-OF-A-..... that hurt like hell!!! A minute or so
later (I can't be
sure,
as time was a relative thing at that point), collected
my wits (what
little I

had left), sat up and surveyed the landscape. My bent
reading glasses
were on

the mantel of the fireplace. How did they up get
there??? My triceps,
right
thigh and both nipples were still twitching. My face
felt like it had
been
shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip weighed 88
lbs.

I'm still looking for my testicles? I'm offering a
significant reward
for
their safe return.

Still in shock,

End of Trancemission...

I've tasered myself, because I carried one while working security and
didn't want to use it on someone without knowing what it would do.

If you're gonna hit yourself with one, do it in such a way that
muscular contractions won't force you to not be able to let go.
Hitting yourself in the thigh with boxer shorts on? Not the world's
best idear. 100kV is a *lot*.
