The Run--this is a club. it is a gay bar during the week, but after hours if you have an id that says your 18, you can go to after hours on friday and saturday nights. there isnt too much of a visible gay scene, in case some people are homophobic. they play mostly dance/techno music and they have a permant dj there, he mixes allright, but could be better. there hours are 1am to 4am. with a $5 cover charge(ouch). it is located at about 17th street and levanworth down by the old market. on the outside it has 3 picture windows, and you will see lights going.
The Old Market--this is omahas oldest place or something like that. its a cool place, you can meet some really cool people down there. you can wear whatever you want to and people dont care :) they got a lot of cool shops down there. some of the better ones are:
Antiqurium--its a old book store/used cd store/art. you can go there and talk with the owner and have a cup of coffee, he is pretty cool. Drastic plastic--they sell really 'underground' stuff, they sell some of the best t-shirts, some that are very hard to find. and the owners there usually know whats going on in omaha. very cool place, they also have a lot of hard to find mags.Well thats bout it for omaha that i know of. there arent many raves here because there is no djs who care to come here, and the fact that someone always tips off the cops so it gets busted. the raves here are very full of drugs.
Dirt Cheap--is probably the best place to go for vinyl. and they have some cheap prices on cds.
Homers--is a cool store, they are part of a chain. they have a good selection of imports. and a fair selection of cd's. The people there are also are in with the 'scene.'
