Lansing is a fairly quiet town, escepially in regards to the "rave scene". Partees here are infrequent at best. There are no regular crews that throw partees. Most events are one offs.

Starting this week (6-3-96) there are going to be two weekly events. The first is a free house partee. It is scheduled for tuesday nights and is supposed to begin around 10 pm. There are no regular djs. In fact it is structured around open tables. The address is 234 Beal and you can email Colin Bossen at colin@lhq.com to get more info. if you want. The second event is on saturday nights at Cafe Latte. It goes from 12 to 4. I don't know the djs names but they spin trip hop, house and trance. The address is 130 Charles.

There is one very good record store in town. Flat, Black in Circular. Their techno section is very good. In fact they have one of the best selections of ambient I have ever seen. Their address is 541 E. Grand River.

There are also a couple of clothing stores that sell stuff for hip kids. Route 66 and Splash. Both are located by FBC.

We also have a weekly radio show here. It is called the Mechanical Pulse and it is djed by DJ Horsepower. The frequency is 88.9 fm. The time, fridays 10 pm to 2 am.

That is pretty much all of lansing. My general advice about this town is this... It is only 1.5 hours from detroit. Go there instead...
