JEAP

(Justice Education and Action Project)

JEAP is a collective of Oakland youth committed to educating our peers about their civil and human rights, and to developing real solutions to the crisis facing young people.

The goals of JEAP are:

  1. Making civil rights accessible to our peers.

  2. Teaching young people how to invoke their rights in situations involving law enforcement.

  3. Documenting incidences of police abusing young people.

  4. Countering media myths about youth and violence.

  5. Educating ourselves about the root causes of crime and violence.
