American Civil Liberties Union 1663 Mission Street, Suite 460 San Francisco. The ACLU is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization, dedicated to defending individual freedoms under the Bill of Rights through legal advocacy, public education, and legislative action. Complaint Counselors receive and respond to public complaints of legal problems. After each shift, counselors discuss potential legal issues with a staff attorney and legal interns.
